Kintner House Inn, Corydon, Indiana, Christmas of 2023

The Inn's history

The Kintner House Inn was built in 1873 and restored in 1986 and was an integral part of revitalizing downtown Corydon, IN.   We decided to stay at this Inn instead of a standard hotel to see this historical building.   It was an amazing place to see, especially at Christmas time.

Rooms at the Inn...
Walking through the house was so comforting.   Each room was designed with historical pieces and modern amenities.   I was very happy to be able to take a peak into each room and see the varied decor.   Some had fireplaces and some even had a clawfoot tub!

The Inn's decorations...
It's Christmas time at the Inn!   The entire Inn was decorated in beautiful seasonal cheer.   I had a lot of fun walking through and taking pictures of all the ornaments, Christmas trees, and decorations.   They really did a fantastic job with everything.   I wish I had the skill to decorate trees like that!

Details around the Inn...
I noticed that there were a number of glass decorations and lamps at the Inn.   I forgot to ask but I am willing to bet that at least some came from Zimmerman's Art Glass in Corydon.   I remember going there when I was a kid on field trips.   It was one of my favorite places to go.   My sister said it burned down but they rebuilt it.   I am really glad they did because they make such beautiful glass art!
Other details around the Inn were a nice touch too.   All the door signs were unique.   The amenities in some rooms such as the shave table and desk were an added bonus.
One of my favorite parts of the experience here was the breakfast.   The Innkeeper was there bright and early and made us all a hearty breakfast.   They served toast, fresh fruit, omelettes with cheese, hashbrowns, fresh coffee, and fresh orange juice.   Needless to say, I didn't need to stop for lunch on the way back home.
Overall, I thought it was a great place to stay for the night.   I can't wait to stay there again and see how they decorate it for the respective holiday or season. 😊
