The Wall of Shame 😧
I'm happy to share my first paintings that I attempted. My very first one makes me laugh every time I see it. I did it in acrylic. I
was too afraid to use oil paint and I had not stumbled onto the water-based oil paints yet. This was the result of all my Bob Ross training
I received by watching his videos. It didn't work out so well, but that's OK. It got me started.
After I lost the fear of using true oil paints, I found that I like that medium so much better than acrylic or water-based oils. It blends so much
better and I have far more control over what I'm doing.
The painting Trees in Spring was an attempt at impressionism. I love the paintings of Monet and Renoir. I thought that I could do that too!
It was harder than it looked. I definitely used the wrong brush strokes. I didn't layer the colors anything like the masters did. I do like the pink
against the blue sky. I still have the photograph that I took for the inspiration of this painting. Maybe one day
I will redo it now that I have a better idea of how to do it.
The painting Italia Villa was inspired by a picture I found in a store somewhere. I tried to mimic the basic designs, but failed to get the perspectives
correct. It's not a terrible painting, but certainly could use some work.
